TRIADS IN GITA, QURAN , BIBLE, PSALMS
Your article “Bhagat Singh’s warning” (in “The News”, dated 14-02-2016) is thought provoking. Actually divine message (from a single source) is same as all Divine Religions (whether Hinduism, Buddhism, Jew scriptures, Christianity or Islam). I will trace this unity in diversity. First let me quote proverbs. (Keep eye on Triads).
I. Early to bed and early to rise makes a man Healthy, Wealthy & Wise.
II. In Urdu/ Hindi we say “TUN MUN DHUN KI BAZI LAGA DO” is (1) Tun (Body) strength, (2) Mun (Mental faculties, (3) Dhun (Wealth Resources).
III. In Economics (purely secular and worldly matter, there are three controlling organs
1- Management (People of mind / mental faculties)
2- Capital (Wealth resources)
3- Labour (Physical strength)
All religious scriptures in different symbolic ways / forms/ GUNAS describe this Triad of economy.
I. Hindu Literature:
1. Tri-Murti
i- Sarsoti (goddess of Knowledge).
ii- Lakshmi (goddess of Wealth).
iii- Shakti (goddess of Strength.)
2- Government is run on three principles (ARTHRA SHASTRA):
I- KAMA (working strength)
II- Artha (wealth)
III- Dharma (People as Brahman -People of knowledge)
3 Rajas , Sattava and Tamas is same Triad(Tamas is inactivity and in economic terms it is unearned income which the Management / Government receives as taxes).
NOTE: Alberuni in his book-Kitabul Hind has discussed these 3 modes of income & wealth distribution after studying Hindu scriptures. He has even described that taxes received by Management/ Government are about 1/3rd of income and 1/3rd of the income is re-invested in the generating capital and 1/3rd income goes to the working family members (LABOUR)/KAMA/SHAKTI/RAJAS SHARE. This means Tax / GDP ratio at one stage was 33.3% in India which the modern welfare states have achieved in the 20th century.
In Bible, please see these Triads in Chapter No. Mathew -22/37 (love the lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind) 23/23-you have neglected the more important matter of law –justice, mercy and faithfulness. John 16/7-8-the counselors will convict the world of guilt in regard to 1)- sin, 2)- righteousness, 3)- judgment. The birth of Christ the heavenly song by the Angels carried three omeans 1)- glory to God, 2)- peace on earth 3)- favor.
In Psalm (David), please see Psalm No. 112/5. Three qualities of the upright man is given in palm no. 112/4. I.e. is 1)-Gracious (Hannan in Hebrew & Arabic). 2)-Compassionate (Rahim) and 3)-Righteous Man (Siddique). Next Triad in Palm no. 112/6 says “GOOD WILL COME TO THAT PERSON WHO HAS 3 QUALITIES. 1) – GENEROUS (HANNAN IN HEBREW) AND 2)-LENDS LOAN FREELY (LAVA IN HEBREW) AND 3)- CONDUCTS HIS AFFAIRS WITH JUSTICE( KOOL IN HEBREW). Both the above verses of 5 & 6 Palm no of 112 have deep relation with three organs of economy (Management, Capital and Labour).
In Quran, same Triads is discussed in many forms
1) – Three qualities for a Ruler are given as (1) – Wealth, (2) – Capital and (3) – Body Strength in Ayat No. 2/247.
2) Distribution of income or wealth is always in three directions in Quran. (1) – Ayat No. 70/24-25 & Ayat No. 2/272 & 2/177. And Ayat No. 22/2/36.
In Gita :-
1) – Ayat No. 17/27 ( Yajne Tapasia Daan) chapter 18/20-21 and chapter 14/5 and chapter 18/5 and chapter 18/19 and 18/23-24-25 and 16/21 and 16/12 and 21 and many others.
The same Triad is given in many forms (3 ways). (Please co-relate them & you will come to interesting welfare society criteria material/ (Secular) society is the end view with greatest happiness.(Great Philosopher poet Dr. Iqbal in one of his poems says-“GITA MEIN HAY QURAN AUR QURAN MEIN HAY GITA i.e. Gita encompasses Quran and Quran encompasses Gita).
One American president said
“IT IS ECONOMY, YOU STUPID”- we are all stupid so far & fighting with each other as we have analyzed above—-though message in our scriptures, if we analyze it in a Triad form (Turshol) is the same.
